Drawing with light

Alan spent 2013 walking the Essex coastline and this culminated in an Exhibition at the Jaywick Martello Tower. The images are made by turning baked bean cans into pin hole cameras. Hence the title “Drawing with Light” which is the literal meaning of the word photograph, coined by Sir John Herschel in the 1839. Alan explored the coastal landscapes – where brick and concrete meet the end of land – to capture stunning shots of individual moments in time, rich in emotion and tension, whilst still maintaining the essence of the original subject.
